Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake, Orlando, FL

Using my sewer bladder

We had a nice stay at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake in Orlando, FL. It’s a city park in Orlando and we absolutely loved our stay. The campground itself was pretty small (only 36 sites) but our site was very spacious. Given the size and popularity of the campground, it can be difficult to get a site. It’s absolutely beautiful with wooded sites.

There are full hookup sites, but our site had electric and water but no sewer. Because we continue to use the clothing washer/dryer, I made regular visits to the dump station and my sewer bladder got a work out this week.

Our Site at Bill Frederick Park

The bathhouse and laundry room looked clean. Laundry was cheap at $1.25 per wash and dry.

These were a neighbor’s stabilizers!

The only real negative to the campground is that the sites are quite sloped front to back. No lie, my outdoor kitchen counter was nipple high. It made our dorm fridge unusable for my kids and even a challenge to get things out of the freezer for me!

The campground is very close to Universal Studios. We must have driven past it a couple of dozen times! We didn’t go, but we did go visit Disney World a couple of times.

While there, take a drive to the Apopka Wildlife Drive. It was awesome! It was maybe 30 minutes away but we loved it. We saw a bunch of alligators and a plethora of birds.

If there’s one thing that my family is good at- it’s losing keys (smile). The idea of a lock that we can control from our smartphones intrigued me. I reached out to NuVending for one of their Nulock Keyless Bluetooth Locks to put it through the paces. At camp, we will have 4 bikes and […]

I’m a 10+ year user of my CPAP machine (well, now a BiPAP machine). I can honestly say that without it I’d likely be dead from a car accident from falling asleep at the wheel. When I finally got tested, I couldn’t drive more than 10 minutes without nodding off. So, not using my CPAP […]

It’s common for new RVers to to be confused as to whether or not they will have “power” when they aren’t plugged in at a campsite. This confusion comes from the fact that there are 2 power systems in RVs: 12v system runs off of the batteries; 12v powers things like lights, water pump, bathroom […]

The question often comes up as to what type of hitch to get for pulling a fifth wheel camper. Generally speaking, you have 2 basic options: a traditional fifth wheel hitch or some type of gooseneck adapter. I discuss the differences between these in this post. It’s all in the type of connection from truck […]

When camping without sewer your options are to either break camp and take your rig to the dump station or the alternative is that you get a method for carrying your “stuff” to the dump station. Most campers end up with a wheeled cart and they give it cute a name like “turd hearse”. But […]

I blogged before about the Best Grill for RVing and shared that my choice was the Weber Q 2000. One of the things that I disliked about this grill was using the little green 1 lb. bottles of propane. I continually had issues getting the threading started and they always felt wasteful when I’m already […]

Camping is great! The worst part of most trips is packing up and heading home. The good part is that you then get to start looking forward to the next one. For some of us, we like the idea of camping, traveling, and exploring so much that we decide to make our campers our home […]
