The Journey of Learn to RV

Over the years, Learn to RV has evolved alongside the RV community, adapting our offerings to meet the changing needs of our community.

A Campfire Conversation
One night around the campfire in Palm Springs, California, Doug shared his thoughts on the future of Learn to RV, sparking an interesting discussion.
Doug's family was considering going back to a sticks & bricks.
At this point, Jennifer chimed in, expressing her enthusiasm for the brand's potential to educate and inspire RV enthusiasts and shared her vision for the brand with Doug. This moment marked a pivotal point in the journey of learn to RV, highlighting the community aspect of RV living.
Transforming Learn to RV: A New Era

In March 2025, just over two years since our first chat with Doug, Jennifer & Frank Schillaci finally sat down with both him and Mandy over dinner in Florida. We all knew we were approaching the pivotal moment of transitioning the reins of Learn to RV.
Frank and Jennifer were honored to be chosen to adopt Learn to RV.
Our priority was crystal clear: we didn’t want Doug or Mandy to feel rushed or unprepared to pass on the reigns to their precious creation. Besides, Doug is still a vital part of the Learn to RV community.
After all, Learn to RV isn’t just a website; it’s a labor of love, a haven for aspiring adventurers eager to hit the open road.
Together, we considered their hopes and concerns, ensuring that their legacy would thrive just as they envisioned & beyond.

At Learn to RV, we invite you to embark on an exciting journey tailored just for you—whether you’re a dreamer, an adventurer, or a seasoned traveler looking to elevate your RV experience.

Frank & Jennifer Schillaci
In July 2013, long before the trend of full-time RV living caught on, the Schillaci family packed their bags and set off on an adventure with six of their seven kids in tow. Their trusty 27-foot bumper-pull travel trailer—no slides, just pure simplicity—was perfectly matched with an E350 Ford van.

After dedicating 20 years to the United States Marine Corps, Frank retired in 2012, eager to share the beauty of the country he bravely served. in 2013, He and his family embarked on an adventure to find their forever home, discovering along the way that their true home was on the open road.
A dozen years and a few RVs later, they've embraced the RV lifestyle, forming a tight-knit community, where all are welcome, wherever they go. Read more of Jennifer's Story or maybe you already follow their journey & Family adventures on NarrowRoadschoolers on Facebook and Instagram
